Mayor Gary Resnick’s Message

Mayor Gary Resnick

The city held a Town Hall meeting June 15. The attendance was outstanding. In excess of 180 residents and business owners turned out to discuss several challenges and opportunities facing the city. We kicked off the meeting with an explanation of the city's financial
status and budget challenges.

We followed with discussions about Amendment , which will be on the ballot in November, transportation plans for our city, the city’s new integrated parking system, consideration of a redesign of Wilton Drive from 5-Points to the bridge by Fort Lauderdale High School and of course, the business climate within our city.

I would like to thank WMBA President Wade Shrack or putting together an excellent presentation on the status of usinesses in the City, covering all areas of the city. While the difficult economy has created challenges for many businesses, the Wilton Manors Business Association, which
has been in existence for over 20 years, serves as an excellent source of business promotion and information for both existing and new businesses.

As Wade mentioned, WMBA and the city promote business to business customer relationships and encourage our residents and businesses to patronize Wilton Manors' businesses. As we mentioned during the Town Hall, we want to do what we can to support our business community. Whether you
are expanding, or a new business moving into the city, I will gladly recognize your business at an event at your business location or at a City Commission meeting. With summer officially starting - in case you couldn't tell from our continual 90+ degree heat - have a safe and profitable summer season.
